Day-by-Day more and more companies are integrating crypto services into their platform. This time, the battle has been started between the browsers. Opera, a well-known browser has entered the crypto space by developing a browser-based crypto wallet for smartphones.
Cryptocurrency wallets are being used for a long time, but this is the first time when crypto-wallet will be incorporated in the browser. According to the details, Crypto-wallet is still in the beta-phase and it will be released along with the new version of the Opera browser for Android. When it will be integrated, the browser will increase user cordiality as switching between browser and crypto trading will become easy.
Charles Hamel, who is working as a product lead at crypto said, “By becoming the first major browser to open up to Web 3.0, we would like to contribute to making the internet of the future more accessible.” He further said, “Our hope is that this will accelerate the transition of cryptocurrencies from speculation and investment to being used for actual payments and transactions in our users’ daily lives.”
The wallet consists of an effective user interface which doesn't use any kind of PIN or passwords in order to validate transactions. Here, the browser will utilize the device's unlock screen mode such as the fingerprint. By integrating Ethereum Web3 API, the browser will support dApps, tokens and crypto collectibles.
Opera has linked the success of the product with the crypto wallet, the effective use of this wallet will attract more users. Also, there will be new possibilities for traders and content creators. The new wallet is basically incorporated with Coinbase, hence it will allow users to spend on items and services in stores which support cryptocurrencies. The browser will allow sending and receiving of cryptocurrencies via a QR-Code. So that an inexperienced person can also perform transactions easily.
Opera has previously also entered the crypto space. In March 2018, the firm updated the browser's currency converter in order to add Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin. In January 2018, the firm has integrated anti-mining malware protection in its Opera Mini and Opera browser for Android.
